About

Liberty Home Gardens is a historic oasis in Naples’ Bayshore Arts District, where decades of creative vision and ecological design have shaped a lush, tropical landscape. Originally developed by local nurseryman Winford “Win” Turner Sr., the 1.33-acre property features towering cypress and gumbo limbo trees, over fifty species of palms, and countless orchids, many thriving as unique hybrids.

The estate’s signature tree house, built by Win Sr. in 1998 using reclaimed wood, along with elevated boardwalks and water features, reflects the property’s long-standing passion for a natural environment.

At the back of the property, Katherine Boll operates a printmaking studio, transformed from the home’s former shed. Katherine holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Studio Art with a focus on printmaking, as well as a master’s degree in Clinical Social Work, and she is a licensed clinical social worker. In her studio, she creates relief prints using leaves, seeds, flowers, and other materials foraged directly from the gardens, paired with professional inks and fine art papers. Palm fronds collected from the property decorate the ceiling, while repurposed shelves display jars of seed pods, stones, shells, and wood slices—materials gathered from the grounds.

At Liberty Home Gardens, Katherine Boll offers hands-on workshops for children and adults, celebrating creativity and the natural world. Participants explore the gardens to collect leaves, flowers, and other materials, then bring them into the studio to create unique botanical relief prints using a professional etching press. Workshops include framed 8.5 x 11” prints, miniature handmade books with printed covers, or whimsical seedpod creatures crafted from natural materials found on-site. Evening sessions combine printmaking with a charcuterie board and a relaxed, creative atmosphere. All workshops encourage experimentation with texture, layering, and composition, and participants leave with a one-of-a-kind work of art to display, gift, or treasure.

Liberty Home Gardens continues to honor the Turners’ legacy of horticultural experimentation and artistic inspiration. It is a space where history, sustainability, and creativity converge—offering a living laboratory for botanical art and workshops.
